Frequently Asked Questions
and Product Information

Teak is considered the most beautiful and best wood known for indoor-outdoor furniture, boats and yachts. Teak is incredibly durable, strong and water resistant. Teak has a high oil content, giving it the highest decay resistance among all natural woods and has a great resistance to termites and other pests. Teak is one of the heaviest and most dense woods and is less likely to crack, warp and twist than other woods.

It is important to understand that the beauty of solid wood may have some properties that sometimes can be misunderstood. Sold wood will adjust and move to the time of the year and the moisture content of the air. In other words, solid wood will breathe and adjust to your home conditions. A home that is dry may cause your wood to move and crack more than a home with higher humidity.

Most of our teak root items are made from stumps, roots and the limbs of harvested teak trees, some being 200 to 300 years old. The most beautiful wood grain and figures are found in the roots and stumps. All of our wood will have checks, cracks, holes, knots, different coloration and natural imperfections. These imperfections and natural weathered textures are what makes our items so beautiful and truly one-of-a-kind masterpieces.

Care Instructions for Your Product

INDOOR TEAK WOOD CARE:
It is important to understand that the beauty of solid wood may have some properties that may not be understood. Solid wood will adjust and move to the time of the year and the moisture content in the air. In other words, sold wood will breathe and adjust to your home conditions, and checks and cracks may open and close. You can keep your teak furniture beautiful year after year by simply adding a few drops of teak oil. Remember, apply the oil in very light coats, rub it in and rub it off. Never apply a heavy coat all at one time.

OUTDOOR TEAK WOOD CARE:
The main difference in indoor and outdoor care of your teak furniture is the effect of the UV rays in the sunlight. If in direct sunlight, the UV rays will fade the surface of the wood. Like people that own teak boats, you will have to do yearly maintenance. This consists of cleaning, lightly sanding and reapplying teak oil, and the beautiful honey color will reappear. If your furniture is under a covered area and not in direct sunlight, you should be able to keep it beautiful by simply applying a few drops of teak oil when your furniture appears dull.

We are thankful that you chose our teak products. We are confident they will bring you years of enjoyment.
